D. State Minimum Core Updates
Council members discussed the volume of proposals that would require review and approval as a result of the legislated updates to the State Minimum Core (SMC). Several strategies for mitigating this impact were considered, including granting blanket pre-approval for proposals affecting only SMC requirements and grouping all SMC-related proposals into a single agenda item at upcoming Council meetings, requiring only one vote for approval. The Council also requested a December 18 deadline for the submission of both SMC updates and revisions to program goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes. Chair Mosley will follow up on these matters and provide an update at the September meeting.

E. Nominations and Voting for Chair-Elect
Two nominations for the Chair-Elect position were accepted for consideration and email voting procedures were established to determine which candidate would serve.  However, one candidate withdrew prior to the vote going forward. A formal vote for the remaining candidate for Chair-Elect will be held at the September 25, 2026, meeting.
