MINUTES
August 22, 2025

MEMBERS PRESENT: 

Voting:  Jackie Mosley, Garry McDonald, Ethel Goodstein, Chris Schulte, Laurence Hare, Matthew Ganio, Kevin D. Hall, Manuel Rossetti, Megan Hull, Ellen Urton, Rhett Hutchins

Non-Voting:  Lindsey Aloia, Suzanne Kenner, and Lisa Kulczak

Chair Matt Ganio called the meeting to order at 2:31 p.m.

1. The minutes for the April 25, 2025, meeting were approved.

 

2. Consent Agenda:

⦁ The proposal for ACCT 201H3 was pulled from the agenda by the college prior to this meeting. All other course change proposals were approved without opposition. The approved courses are listed on the  CIM Course Report created by CourseLeaf and will be forwarded for consideration to the Faculty Senate meeting scheduled for September 10, 2025.

 

3. Old Business:  

⦁ None.

 

4. New Business: 

a. Nominations for/election of the Undergraduate Council Chair-Elect.

Chris Schulte was nominated and elected as the Chair-Elect, to serve as the Chair during the 2026-2027academic year.

b. Student representative for the Undergraduate Council

⦁ Naming new student representative

After some discussion this item was tabled for further discussion at next month’s meeting.  Questions from the Council included whether student representation was required on all Faculty Senate committees, appropriate procedures on how students should be nominated/elected, and whether the appointment was for one year or for three (mirroring the other members).  Chair Ganio will reach out to FS leadership and to ASG for more information and will report back at the September meeting.

5. Additional Items/Announcements:

a. Drama/Speech (K-12) Licensure Deactivation

⦁ This licensure pathway is no longer utilized by enrolled students at the University of Arkansas. There have not been any students in recent history that have sought this licensure pathway nor been licensed in it. We have confirmed there are no known students currently pursuing this pathway.

b. Speech (7-12) Licensure Deactivation

⦁ This licensure pathway is no longer utilized by enrolled students at the University of Arkansas. There have not been any students in recent history that have sought this licensure pathway nor been licensed in it. We have confirmed there are no known students currently pursuing this pathway.
