Special Remote Voting on Program Proposal

I. Old Business:

1. Program Proposals (PDF Report)
  Originally tabled at the April 24, 2026, Undergraduate Council meeting, this proposal from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design was subsequently brought forward for consideration through an electronic vote. On April 30, 2026, Council Chair Ganio sent the following email to Council members:

Undergraduate Council members,

As you remember, the ARCH Honors: Architecture School and Departmental Honors Requirements proposal was tabled due to a lack of representation (see attached ARCH honors pdf).

Upon further discussion, it has become apparent that to maintain consistency and alignment, we need to vote on the proposal. The HNRS part of the catalog (2^nd attachment) has been approved to have a new freshman GPA requirement of 3.90. To maintain consistency, the ARCH honors proposal has been changed to reflect this 3.90 requirement, among its other changes.

If you have further questions about the proposal, please reach out to the ARCH honors director, Brian Holland behollan@uark.edu.

I respectfully request that you vote via email to Lisa by COB tomorrow, Friday May1^st. This timing will allow us to get it in front of Faculty Senate in time for the catalog.

All sixteen voting members responded to the electronic vote, unanimously approving the program proposal listed below. Chair Ganio expressed appreciation to the Council for its support of the proposal and for members' timely participation in the special vote.
