Chair Ketevan Mamiseishvili called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.
- The minutes for the February 26, 2021 meeting were approved.
- Course Change Proposals:
All course change proposals were approved without opposition. The approved courses are listed on the CIM Course Report created by CourseLeaf and will be forwarded for consideration as appropriate to the:- Faculty Senate, meeting scheduled for April 14, 2021
- Graduate Council meeting scheduled for April 15, 2021

- Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Engineering, Department of
Mechanical Engineering – MEEGBS-AERO - Mechanical Engineering: Aerospace Concentration
presented by Manuel Rossetti.
Revised formatting of the eight semester degree plan. Inserted the General Education language.Also added footnotes and hyper-linked courses for access to course details. AG
To provide consistency with the General Education curriculum language.
Footnotes provides list of courses that specifically meets each General Education Outcome on behalf of the college.
Changes to ENGL 1033 requirement will need program change to receive campus approval. AG
Inserted revised list of courses into footnotes.

Additional courses were approved for General Education after the initial data entry was conducted.
A concern was expressed regarding MATH 2554 not being listed to satisfy learning outcome 2.1. The footnote was approved by the Gen Ed and Core Curriculum Committee Chair. AG
Changing CHEM 1103/1101L to CHEM 1123/1121L.
To correct a long-standing error in the catalog. CHEM 1103 is a required course in our curriculum, and therefore should never have been included in the 4 hour science elective list in the first place. The correct class in the list should be CHEM 1123 instead.
Changing PHYS 3603/3601VLto PHYS 3613/361VL.
The request is a recommendation from Physics. According to them, 3603 is designed for BA major and 3613 for BS major. And 361VL is the lab for 3613.
Switched U.S. History or Government State Minimum Core from spring to fall with PHYS 2054.
Physics was moved from first semester to 2nd semester for all programs in the college in an attempt to improve first term retention. A gen ed course was moved to first semester to fill that void (4a_meegbs-aero_report_03192021). -
Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Engineering Dean – ENGRME - Engineering, Master of Science in Engineering presented by Manuel Rossetti.
Adding admission requirements to include degrees earned from a program accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. Corrected number of hours required for the program and removed the maximum allowable hours for 4000-level courses as they are no longer offered. Deleted redundant or obsolete wording.
To expand admission requirements and correct existing text in the requirements (4b_engrme_report_03192021). -
Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Graduate Dean – PROFGMC - Preparing for the Professoriate, Graduate MicroCertificate presented by Jim Gigantino.
New Graduate MicroCertificate to support graduate student professionalization
Graduate student professionalization is a major topic with the Council of Graduate Schools over the last several years. This credential will support graduate students who are preparing to enter academia with needed professionalization topics on teaching, research, and service topics.
Proposal was updated to change program code to PROFGM and degree code from GMC to Graduate MicroCertificate (4c_profgmc_report_03192021).
