Chair Jeannine Durdik called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.

  1. The minutes for the March 16, 2018 meeting were approved.

  2. Course Change Proposals:

    All course change proposals were approved without opposition. The approved courses are listed on the CIM Course Report created by CourseLeaf and will be forwarded for consideration as appropriate to the:
    • Faculty Senate, meeting scheduled for May 2, 2018
    • Graduate Council meeting scheduled for May 17, 2018

    The following program change proposals were approved on the CIM Program Report without opposition. The program changes will be forwarded for consideration as appropriate to the:

    1. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences, Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness – AGBS-M – Agricultural Business Minor presented by Kiersten Bible.

      Proposing online minor. Courses are already offered online (4a_agbs-m_report_04202018, 4a_agbs-m_distanceoffering_ltrofnotif_04202018, 4a_agbs-m_syllabi_04202018).

    2. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures – AMFREN – Additional Major-French presented by Steven Bell.

      Proposal is to submit for two new additional majors in French and Spanish, providing non-ARSC students with sufficient fluency and second-language skills in a professional setting. The BAT degree in the College of Education and Health Professions will utilize this, and it is estimated that Walton College of Business students would benefit as well (4b_amfrem_report_04202018, 4b_amfrem_additional_major_ltrofnotif_04202018).

    3. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures – AMSPAN – Additional Major-Spanish presented by Steven Bell.

    7. Proposed graduate program change for the School of Journalism and Strategic Media, JOURMA – Journalism, Master of Arts presented by Jim Gigantino.

      Proposal is to change the requirements to allow up to 6 hours of graduate credit in a single department other than journalism (4g_jourma_report_04202018).

    8. Proposed graduate program change for the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, NURSMS-CNSP – Nursing Clinical Nurse Specialist Concentration presented by Fran Hagstrom.

      Proposal is to delete the Nursing Clinical Nurse Specialist Concentration. Concentration was replaced. Industry no longer recognizes a need for this and students have not declared this concentration in several years (4h_nursms-cnsp_report_04202018, 4h_nursms-cnsp_deletion_ltrofnotif_04202018).

    2. Revised MATH IB test credit – MATH 1284C, MATH 2554 5 HL MATH 1284C, MATH 2554H 6,7 HL This change standardizes the “Up to 8 hours possible (To be determined by the Math Department)” as currently listed.
