4.  New Business:

The following program change proposals were approved on the CIM Program Report.  The program change proposals will be forwarded for consideration to the Faculty Senate, meeting scheduled for May 3, 2023.

a. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Social Work – CHASCP – Child Advocacy Studies Training Undergraduate Certificate presented by Casey Harris.

Since inception, this certificate has had <10 participants. Currently the certificate only has 1 enrollee. Additionally, the requirement for this certificate is 9 hours credit and therefore is more suitable for a micro-certificate when looking at current definitions. Currently, the certificate program only has one student enrolled and the student will be finished in the Summer, 2023. The courses for this certificate are offered as a part of the Child Advocacy Studies Minor and as an elective for students earning a Social Work minor. There will be no change in required course offerings for this certificate so there will be no issues with student completing this summer (4a_chascp_report_04212023, 4a_chascp_deletion_ltr_of_notification_04212023).

b. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business, Department of Economics – INTBBB – International Business, Bachelor of Science in International Business presented by Alan Ellstrand.

Adding Russian Language and Russian Area Studies classes to options for BSIB degree students.

Adding Russian Language and Russian Area Studies will provide students with more options for specialization in world languages (4b_intbbb_report_04212023).

c. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business, Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Venture Innovation – ENTRUM – Entrepreneurship Undergraduate MicroCertificate presented by Alan Ellstrand.

This new program is a nine-hour Entrepreneurship Undergraduate MicroCertificate.

The Entrepreneurship Undergraduate MicroCertificate is designed for students from any discipline interested in starting an enterprise. Start-up skills are valuable whether the student plans to begin a new venture or have start-up skills in an existing organization. (4c_entrum_report_04212023).

d. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Engineering, Department of Engineering Dean – DTSCBS-CMPA – Data Science: Computational Analytics Concentration presented by Manuel Rossetti.

⦁ DASC 1001 & DASC 1222 are updated to DASC 1003 and DASC 1223 as initially designed. DASC 2103 is moved to CMPA Concentration Required matching the original program design.
⦁ Adding MATH 2603 or MATH 2803 as electives as a pre-req for CSCE 4133.
⦁ INEG 2314 then INEG 2323 sequence is changed to better match sequencing of STAT 3013 and 3003 per discussions with INEG.

These provide the courses the appropriate number of hours and an improved course sequencing (4d_dtscbs-cmpa_report_04212023, 4d_uoa_bs_dasc_suggested_plan_of_study_8-semester_v23-8a_04212023).

e. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Engineering, Department of Engineering Dean – DTSCBS-SODA – Data Science: Social Data Analytics Concentration presented by Manuel Rossetti.

⦁ DASC 1001 & DASC 1222 are updated to DASC 1003 and DASC 1223 as initially designed. DASC 2103 is moved to CMPA Concentration Required matching the original program design.
⦁ INEG 2314 then INEG 2323 sequence is changed to better match sequencing of STAT 3013 and 3003 per discussions with INEG.
⦁ SOCI 4253 and 3001L sequence (these are joined courses/labs despite the different numbering) were deleted as they are not available and will likely be reworked in the future to fit into the broader SOCI and DASC curriculum.

These provide the courses with the appropriate number of hours and improved course sequencing (4e_dtscbs-soda_report_04212023, 4e_uoa_bs_dasc_suggested_plan_of_study_8-semester_ v23-8a_04212023).

f. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Engineering, Department of Engineering Dean – DTSCBS-SYCA – Data Science: Supply Chain Analytics Concentration presented by Manuel Rossetti.

⦁ SCMT 3643 and SCMT 3663 were swapped from/to "required"/"elective".

These provide the courses with the appropriate number of hours and improved course sequencing and to match changes made in the Supply Chain B.S. degree course sequence (4f_dtscbs-syca_report_04212023, 4f_uoa_bs_dasc_suggested_plan_of_study_8-semester_v23-8a_04212023).
