4. New Business:
The following program change proposals were approved on the CIM Program Report. The program change proposals will be forwarded for consideration to the Faculty Senate, meeting scheduled for April 12, 2023.
a. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Education and Health Professions, Department of Curriculum and Instruction – CATEBS-FCSE – Career and Technical Education: Family and Consumer Sciences Education Concentration presented by Matthew Ganio.
⦁ Move HDFS 3453 Parenting & Family from a technical requirement to a recommended
elective.
⦁ Move HDFS 2483 Family Financial from a recommended elective to a technical requirement.
The new FCSE competencies have been released, and to meet these competencies we must include a financial awareness course as a technical requirement, not just a recommended elective (4a_catebs-fcse_report_03172023, 4a_catebs-fcse_revising_an_approved_licensure_program-cover_sheet_03172023, 4a_catebs-fcse_revising_an_approved_licensure_program-section_c_03172023).
b. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering – EMGT-M – Engineering Management Minor presented by Manuel Rossetti.
We are proposing the creation of a minor in engineering management for students pursuing an engineering degree at the University of Arkansas.
We believe that engineering students at the University of Arkansas would appreciate and benefit from the opportunity to complete a structured set of courses that will give them the fundamental knowledge and skills they need to pursue technical leadership positions in their career (4b_emgt-m_report_03172023).
