One tabled item from the November UCPC meeting:
-
Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food
and Life Sciences – Department of Poultry Sciences – POSCBS- BSA, Poultry Science
(
Table Six,
Attachment 6A and
Attachment 6A-1) was presented by Nick Anthony. The Poultry Science faculty recommended the addition
of several POSC courses which resulted in a reallocation of course groupings. The
addition of specific course content would better prepare students for more advanced
poultry courses. This impacted the core requirements. In addition, we felt it
was important to make adjustments in the poultry curriculum. No changes made will
impact other degree programs. These changes will not lead to elimination of any
other program. It is simply a restructuring of the degree requirements. We have
changed our degree check sheet (Attachment 6A-1) to reflect the recommended course
additions. The proposal was approved and will be forwarded for the January 2012 Faculty
Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the School of Architecture, Interior Design Program – IDES-M - Minor in Interior Design ( Table One, Attachment 1A). The proposal to delete the minor was pulled from the agenda before the meeting by the School of Architecture.

Non-business majors are required to complete 15-21 hours for each business minor. This new language explicitly states that Non-business majors may not earn multiple business minors for General Business and another area of study and specifies that in cases when minors require common courses, students may not utilize more than three hours of courses toward each minor earned. The proposal was approved and will be forwarded for the January 2012 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business, College Honors Program ( Table Two, Attachment 2B) was presented by Karen Boston. Proposal requested to change the requirements for Walton College Honors Program including increasing GPA requirements and the addition of MATH 2554, Calculus, as a requirement for all Walton College Honors students.
